40th ANNIVERSARY OF THE STADE LOUIS II
The Stade Louis II, operated by the Monaco Government Department of Education, Youth and Sport, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The stadium was officially opened on 25 January 1985 by Prince Rainier III, at a ceremony attended by the then President of the International Olympic Committee, Mr Juan Antonio Samaranch. In addition to providing a fitting venue for international sporting events, the Stade Louis II aims to make sport accessible for all. The complex regularly hosts more than 30 different sports.
