The Monegasque Association of Friends of the Circus (AMAC) is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the start of 2025, at the same time as the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival. This association was launched in 1975 by Prince Rainier III. Doctor Jean-Joseph Pastor was its first president for ten years, before Patrick Hourdequin, a recognized circus enthusiast, took over. The creative initiative was, and still is, appreciated by circus people. They like the fact that people outside their community are interested in this art. For AMAC members, this allows them to get closer to animals and artists and discover their lives in a tangible way. The new Board of Directors, with its president Franck Nicolas, aims to continue this proximity which has made the association so successful, and thus continue to give children this dream which will make them love the Circus.
