90TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF PRINCESS GRACE OF MONACO
Born on 12 November 1929 in Philadelphia, Princess Grace of Monaco would have been 90 years old this year. A magnificent actress and muse to Alfred Hitchcock, she won the Oscar for Best Actress in 1955. In 1956, she ended her acting career to marry Prince Rainier III, with whom she had three children: H.S.H Prince Albert II, H.R.H. Princess Caroline of Hanover, and H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie. A committed supporter of humanitarian causes, in 1963 she founded AMADE, also known as the World Association of Children’s Friends, and then in 1964 the Princess Grace of Monaco Foundation, an international charity. She died tragically on 14 September 1982, but will remain in our hearts forever.
