From July 8th to August 31st, 2025, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco and the Centre Pompidou will present “Colours!”, an exceptional exhibition devoted to a modern history of colour through the greatest masterpieces of the 20th century. More than a hundred works will be on display, including paintings by some major artists, from Sonia Delaunay to Jean-Michel Basquiat, via Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani, Henri Matisse, Vassily Kandinsky. Curated by Didier Ottinger, Deputy Director of the Musée national d'art moderne, the exhibition is laid out around seven themed areas each devoted to a particular colour, where the visual experienced is enhanced by audio creations from composer Roque Rivas and fragrances by Alexis Dadier for the House of Fragonard. Design pieces by Ron Arad, Jean Prouvé, Ettore Sottsass and Philippe Starck integrate installations conceived by Marion Maelander. With scenography by William Chatelain, the exhibition invites visitors to experience a multisensory immersion in the world of colour.
