After London, Paris becomes the second city to celebrate the Summer Olympic Games for the third time (1900, 1924 and 2024). The history of the modern Games is closely linked to France. Olympism organized its rebirth there at the turn of the 20th century. The Paris 1924 Games were the first to feature Olympic motto, still in force today: “Citius, Altius, Fortius” (faster, higher, stronger), which Fr. Henri Didon had coined, and Pierre de Coubertin borrowed and promoted. Holding the first carbon-neutral Games, the first gender-equal Games, and the first Games to include competitions that everyone is welcome to take part in, such is the ambition of Paris 2024 to honor and continue the French Olympic heritage. From July 26 to August 11, the Monaco Olympic Committee will present athletes in several disciplines, happy to carry high the colors and sporting values of the Principality.
