FILMS SHOT IN MONACO - UNKNOWN OF MONTE-CARLO
In partnership with the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the Stamp Issuing Office is launching a new cinema series featuring the posters of films shot in Monaco.
The stamp depicts the full-length version of the poster for André Berthomieu’s 1939 film Unknown of Monte-Carlo, the French version of the Italian film La signora di Montecarlo by Mario Soldati, which tells the story of an adventurous woman weary of her role as bait for a swindler who cleans up playing poker against the gullible marks that she brings to him. She reconnects with a childhood friend who pulls her away from the clutches of her accomplice and the police.
