50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOON LANDINGS
After taking off from Kennedy Space Centre on 16 July 1969, the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon four days later. It was the first time such a feat had ever been achieved. The following day, a giant leap was made for mankind, as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin emerged from the Eagle lunar module to set foot on the Earth’s only natural satellite.
