HOLY YEAR, JUBILEE 2025

A Holy Year, also known as a Jubilee, is, in the Roman Catholic Church, a major pastoral event taking place every 25 years and intended to revive and deepen everyone's faith in joy. The Holy Year invites the faithful to contemplation and reconciliation. It begins with the opening of the Holy Door of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. The Holy Year 2025 was announced by the Bull of Indiction Spes non confundit, “Hope does not disappoint”, delivered on Thursday May 9, 2024 by Pope Francis. Hope which forms, with faith and charity, the triptych of “theological virtues” expressing the essence of Christian life, will therefore be its guiding principle. Thus, its logo conveys a simple and universal message inviting us to walk together towards a better future, guided by faith and the desire to build a world marked by mercy and fraternity. Echoing this, its motto calls, in a troubled world, to the rebuilding of a climate of hope.
